Good-2-Go Oregon is Central Oregon's premiere community-based support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We specialize in high functioning adults who experience some form of Developmental Disability.
The Applied Community Experience (ACE) department helps our clients learn social skills and community norms through the creation and hosting of fun, community-based group activities. These activities currently host only 6 clients due to COVID restrictions, but have historically seen turnouts as high as 30+ clients. This allows clients to meet other people in the I/DD community, make friends, learn to socialize in a group setting, and most importantly, have fun!
Adventure Specialists help Trip Leaders ensure that activities are smooth and safe. They assist with keeping track of clients, ensuring that clients are prepared for any activity, helping transport clients from the community hub to the event, helping the client purchase tickets, and assisting the Trip Leader in the event of an emergency. Adventure Specialists will always have at least 1 other trained staff member with them at all times.
Adventure Specialists need the ability to react to unexpected circumstances, solve unexpected problems, and create a fun environment for clients. They also must be able to explain (not necessary do) and engage in a variety of activities including from bowling to hiking.
